Magi (Majusian)

Three Wise Men From Iran Visited Jesus From old Persian language, a priest of Zarathustra (Zoroaster). The Bible gives us the direction, East and the legend states that the wise men were from Persia (Iran) - Balthasar, Melchior, Caspar - thus being priests of Zarathustra religion, the mages.

History of 3 Kings Day - Epiphany

Code:
The twelve days of Christmas end with the Feast of Epiphany also called "The Adoration of the Magi" or "The Manifestation of God." Celebrated on January 6, it is known as the day of the Three Kings (or wise men/magi): Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. According to an old legend based on a Bible story, these three kings saw, on the night when Christ was born, a bright star, followed it to Bethlehem and found there the Christchild and presented it with gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Asal-usul nama ketiga orang majus ini :
Code:

In the Eastern church a variety of different names are given for the three, but in the West the names have been settled since the 8th century as Caspar, Melchior and Balthasar. The names of the Magi derive from an early 6th century Greek manuscript in Alexandria, translated into the Latin Excerpta Latina Barbari.[4] The Latin text Collectanea et Flores continues the tradition of three kings and their names and gives additional details of their clothes, coming from Syria. This text is said to be from the 8th century, of Irish origin. In the Eastern churches, Ethiopian Christianity, for instance, has Hor, Karsudan, and Basanater, while the Armenians have Kagbha, Badadakharida and Badadilma[5][6].

1. Emas (Gold)

Code:
1.
1. (Symbol Au) A soft, yellow, corrosion-resistant element, the most malleable and ductile metal, occurring in veins and alluvial deposits and recovered by mining or by panning or sluicing. A good thermal and electrical conductor, gold is generally alloyed to increase its strength, and it is used as an international monetary standard, in jewelry, for decoration, and as a plated coating on a wide variety of electrical and mechanical components. Atomic number 79; atomic weight 196.967; melting point 1,063.0°C; boiling point 2,966.0°C; specific gravity 19.32; valence 1, 3.
2. Coinage made of this element.
3. A gold standard.
2. Money; riches.
3. A light olive-brown to dark yellow, or a moderate, strong to vivid yellow.
4. Something regarded as having great value or goodness: a heart of gold.
5.
1. A medal made of gold awarded to one placing first in a competition, as in the Olympics: won 9 golds in 13 events.
2. A gold record.

Emas adalah lambang kekayaan, kemuliaan (glory), bernilai tinggi, sebuah standar.

2. Kemenyan (frankincense)

Code:
Fragrant gum resin obtained from trees of the genus Boswellia (family Burseraceae), particularly several varieties found in Somalia, Yemen, and Oman. This important incense resin was used in ancient times in religious rites and in embalming. It constituted part of the Jewish incense of the sanctuary and is frequently mentioned in the Pentateuch; it was one of the gifts of the magi to the infant Jesus. It is used today in incense and fumigants and as a fixative in perfumes.

3. Minyak Mur (Myrrh)

Code:
Myrrh is the sweet-smelling oleo-gum resin that naturally exudes from wounds or cuts in the stems and bark of several species of this shrubby desert tree. This sap forms a thick, pale yellow paste as it seeps out. It then hardens into a mass about the size of a walnut, taking on a reddish-brown color. The volatile oil contained in the resin consists of sesquiterpenes, triterpenes, and mucilage.

Mereka adalah the Magos yang bijak - The Wise Man - Majus

Act 8:9 But there was a man named Simon, who had formerly practiced magic arts in the city to the utter amazement of the Samaritan nation, claiming that he himself was an extraordinary and distinguished person.

Act 8:9 anor de tis onomati simon prouporxen en to polei mageuonG3096 kai existanon to ethnos tos samareias, legon einai tina eauton megan,

G3096
mageuō
mag-yoo'-o
From G3097; to practice magic: - use sorcery.

Lain halnya dengan The Wise Magos diatas, Simon the Magos adalah the Wicked Magos.

(
Deu 29:18)

(The death of Simon Magus, from the Nuremberg Chronicle)

Simon Magus binasa bersama uangnya

Anda ingin seperti The Wise Magus atau Simon The Magus?

(1Ch 16:29)
